The testator, Elizabeth Bean (nee Wood) was wife to Henry Bean. They married 19 Mar 1750/51 at Bishopstone (Henry of Seaford). It is possible that one of her sons is the father of the illegitimate children or that they were adopted. It may be that Ann Breach was in a relationship with on of the BEAN family but for some reason they could not marry (for example, for social reasons if Anne was a servant).

- Anecdote*: Thomas's first wife Clemence died in 1681 and was buried 7 Jul 1681 at Eastbourne. She appears to have died as a result of childbirth as their son Michael was buried the same day.
- Marriage*: Thomas Breach married Susanna Ashdown circa 1685 at East Dean, Sussex, EnglandB.2
- Anecdote*: The date of marriage in the SFHG marriage index is 1 Jul 1681 but this cannot be correct as Thomas's first wife Clemence was buried 6 days later on 7 Jul 1681. The date needs to be verified in the original records, only the transcript has been checked. Until this is resolved, this second marriage needs to be treated with caution. Susanna may have been a widow. There are no Breach baptisms at East Dean before 1700.

In the name of God amen I Nicholas Brech of Eastdeane in the County of Sussex, Gardener being in good Health and of sound and perfect mind and memory / Praised be Almighty God for the same / do make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me made And first and Principally I recommend my soul unto Almighty God hopeing and assuredly believing in and through the Merits Death and Passion of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to have free Pardon and Forgiveness of all my Sins and everlasting life And as for my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Exexutrix hereinafter named. And my Will is that all my just Debts Funerall Charges and the Probate of this my Will shall be first paid and discharged And after payment thereof I do hereby give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattells Rights Credits and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Dear and Loving Wife Mary And I do hereby make her sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Testimony whereof I the said Nicholas Brech the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in one Sheet of Paper sett my hand and seal the fifth day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty seven.
