- Will*: Susan Smith left a will made on 13 May 1673 at East Blatchington, Sussex, EnglandB.2,3
- Will/Adm Transcript*: ABSTRACT:
Susan Seaman of Blatchington, spinster [she was actually a widow]
To Anne Daniel, wife of William Daniel, £2 10s and twelve pence to each of their four children, which two pounds is in consideration of the money due unto her by the death of Thomas Beane.
To Joane Van, wife of William Van of Horstmonceux, £2 10s in consideration of the money due unto her by the death of Thomas Beane and twelve pence to each of her two children.
To Martha Beane £2 10s in consideration of the money due unto her by the death of Thomas Beane.
To Henry Beane my Grandson £10 when he reaches age 21 years.
To Margaret Seaman my daughter, executor, the residue
Note: The father of teh above children Anne, Joane and Martha was John Beane, not Thomas Beane, so this is thought to be a mistake.
Both the children's father John Beane and mother Martha Beane died in 1659.
The confusion probably comes about because Susan's father-in-law was Thomas Seaman who also left a will in which the Susan's daughter Martha (mother of the above children) was left 10 shillings. - Death*: Susan Smith died in 1677 at East Blatchington, Sussex, EnglandB.
- Burial*: Susan Smith was buried on 14 August 1677 at St Peter's, East Blatchington, Sussex, EnglandB, "Susannah, widow."4
