John Farmer
b. circa 1530
Parents:
Last Edited: 5 May 2022
- Birth*: John Farmer was born circa 1530 at England.
- He was the son of John Farmer and Agnes (?)
- Anecdote: There is no evidence this John Farmer is the son of John Farmer, parson of Warbleton, but he appears at Warbleton a generation later, so he is likely to be the son of John.
We know that John married and probably had a children as there is a burial of Joan Farmer, "wife of John" in 1586 at Warbleton. There are possibly connections to a Joseph Farmer who was buried at Warbleton in 1631 and also to Thomas Fermer of Lewes who left a will proved in 1604 (his likely origins would appear to be Warbleton). - Marriage*: John Farmer married Joan (?) circa 1555 at Sussex, England.

Thomas Farmer
b. circa 1540, d. 1604
Last Edited: 7 May 2022
- Birth*: Thomas Farmer was born circa 1540 at Sussex, England.
- Anecdote*: This Thomas Farmer (c1540-1604) is possibly a descendant of John Fermor/Farmer (c1490-1570) who was the clerk and parson at Warbleton between 1556 and his burial there on 12 Aug 1570 (the burial states "clerk & parson of this parish").
It is known that this John Farmer was curate at Rotherfield St Denys between about 1540 and 1544 and it seems likely that he is the son of Thomas Farmer of Rotherfield who died there in 1529 and left a will mentioning his son John and John's daughter Joan.
However, given that John Farmer (the parson) moved around Sussex a lot (he was known to be in Brightling and Streat for brief periods of time), and that the Warbleton parish records start around 1559, it is impossible to determine the actual family line connecting this Thomas to John the parson at Warbleton. - Marriage*: Thomas Farmer married Elizabeth Cowper on 30 June 1561 at Warbleton, Sussex, EnglandB.1
- Death*: Thomas Farmer died in 1604 at Lewes, Sussex, EnglandB.
- Burial*: Thomas Farmer was buried on 13 November 1604 at All Saints, Lewes, Sussex, England, "---- FARMOR, Goodman."2
- Will*: Thomas Farmer left a will made on 25 November 1604 at Lewes, Sussex, EnglandB.3
