- Baptism*: Susannah Hayler was baptized on 1 February 1664/65 at St Mary's, Billingshurst, Sussex, EnglandB.1
- She was the daughter of Edward Hayler and Jane Bridger.
- Anecdote*: Bastardy Order/Bond, Billingshurst (Par/21/34/1, Par/21/34/3) 1 Jul 1689. There was never a marriage between Susanna Hayler and Christopher Elliott.
- Anecdote: A number of trees have identified John Hayler, illegitimate child of Susanna Hayler and Christopher Elliott, baptised 12 May 1689 at Billingshurst (father not given), as the husband of Ann Jupp. However, there is a burial of a John Hayler, son of Susan, at Billingshurst, on 25 Mar 1692, which throws this connection into doubt. Further work is required. Note that there is information on Christopher Elliott and Susannah Hayler in this database. They can be found in the surname index.
A possible baptism for John Hayler is 15 February 1684/5 at Billingshurst, the son of John Hayler from Chiltington.1
