There appears to be a connection between the PENFOLDs in Cuckfield and Bolney, however, the connection back to Thomas Penfold and Ann White shoudl be treated with caution. The "Paul Norton family tree" in Ancestry (user: Paul Norton) has the death of Thomas Penfold in Charlwood, Surrey on 11 Apr 1830 which may indicate that his family origins were in Surrey.
