This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Weller of Ringmer in the county of Sussex yeoman First after recommending my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my executors hereafter named I give and dispose of any worldly estate in manner following (to wit) I desire and order my just debts funeral expenses and probate of this my will be first paid and satisfied and from and after payment and satisfaction thereof Then I give and bequeath the remainder thereof and all and every my household goods and implements of household of all sorts and also all and every my other goods chattels cattle stock and husbandry tacklings corn and other things whatsoever in and about my dwelling house farms and lands now in my own possession unto my loving wife Ann Wellar for the term of her life if she long continues my widow for and towards the education and maintenance of all and every my children living at my decease And also from and immediately after my said wife's death or second marriage which shall first happen then I give the same goods chattels and personal estate aforesaid unto my loving brother John Wellar of Ringmer aforesaid yeoman and William Shadwell of Ringmer aforesaid gentlemen In Trust that they my said trustees shall and may educate and bring up all and every my children with the profits of my farms until the youngest of my children then living shall arrive to the age of twenty one years and then divide the same and every part thereof as near as maybe unto and amongst such of them as shall be then living share and share alike And my desire and will is that an inventory be immediately taken of all my estate after my decease by my executors and signed by my wife to the intent that she may be answerable for the same at her death or second marriage aforesaid Also I further give unto my said wife for the term of her life or second marriage as aforesaid all the remainder and interest in the terms of my farms as well for her own maintenance as for the education of my said children and after my said wife’s death or second marriage as aforesaid I give the remainder thereof unto my before named Trustees for the equal benefit of all and every my children until my youngest child then living arrives to the age of twenty one years And then to be disposed of in such manner as my said Trustees or the survivor of them shall think proper with the consent of the landlords thereof And I give all and every my wearing apparel of all sorts unto and amongst my sons in such manner as my said wife shall direct the same And my watch I give to my eldest son at my decease And I do hereby name and appoint my said brother John Wellar and my said Trustee Mr. William Shadwell joint executors and trustees of my said will hereby revoking all former wills declaring this only to be my last will and testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper and part of a second sheet set my hand and seal to each sheet thereof this fifth day of April in the year of our Lord 1762.
