- Anecdote: The following death notice for a William Tayt's eldest daughter may give a clue as to his origins: On the 27th October [1866], the beloved wife of M. SAYER, Esq., and eldest daughter of William Tayt, Esq., of St. Leonards, Sydney, late of Norfolk House, Grove-terrace, Kew Bridge, London. Not sure if this is the correct William Tayt though.1
