This is an interesting possibility as her father died in 1747 and her brother lived in Ditchling and had his family there. This provides a connection to Ditchling where Mary's daughter Sarah Belchamber was married in 1792.^1,2

Abraham's brother John a labourer of Lindfield Sussex also took responsibility for the payment of Abraham's bastard son. There were two John Belchambers both born 1673 and both may have been "of Horsted Keynes" - see note in entry for John's father, George Belchamber. However, the fact that none of the male children of John and Mary Longley were named John is supportive of it being a second marriage (the child John being born in the first marriage).³
