    In the name of God Amen I John Moone of Fant alias Frant in the Countie of Sussex yoman being in full and perfect health and strength and of a sound and perfect mind and memorie praised be God for the same and not knowing howe soone it may please God to call mee out of this synfull world and being desirous to settle that estate that God in mercie hath bestowed on mee doe make my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my soul to God who gave it mee and my bodie I commit to the earth from whence it was taken to be decently buried in such Christian maner as my executors hereafter named shall think fit Item I give unto the poore of the parish of Frant the sume of twentie shillings to be distributed amongst them as my executors shall think fit Item I give and bequeath unto Anne my loving wife my best bedd boulster bedstedle curtens vallens blankets coverlids mat and cord and all things belonging thereunto and as it now stands in my dwelling-house and alsoe one dozen of napkins All the rest of my goods cattell chattels and personall estate whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my two brothers Thomas and William Moone whome I make executors of this my last will and testament and whereas when I purchased my messuage tenement farme and landes in Fant aforesaid of the heires of Thomas Baker gent I was enforced to mortgage the same to John Baker gent for five hundred pounds and alsoe to take upp at interest severall other summe and summes of money Nowe I doe by this my will give and devise unto the said Thomas Moone and William Moone my brothers and executors my said messuage tenement farme and lands in Frant aforesaid to the intent and purpose that they and survivors of them and the heires of the survivor of them shall and may demise grant bargaine sell enfeoff or convey the said messuage lands and tenements or any part or parcell thereof to any person or persons whatsoever whome they shall think fit And the money arising by the rents issues and profits or sale or sales thereof or of any part of parcell thereof or otherwise howsoever And also by the sale of my stock and other personall estate and the money arising thereby I will and order my said brothers or the survivor of them or the heires of the survivor of them shall pay all my debts legacies and funerall expenses and the probation of this my will And alsoe educate and bring upp all my children out of the same until they and every of them shall be able to erne their owne living or goe to service or apprentice And the overplus of the money remayning in their hands and alsoe such of my lands and tenements as they shall think fit not to sell demise or otherwise dispose of or convey away I give unto all my children in such maner as my two executors or the survivor of them shall think fit to divide and dispose of the same Item I will and appoint that my executors shall be payd and allowed theire reasonable costs and charges about their management of my estate and I give unto them twentie shillings apiece as a token of my love And I doe revoke all former wills by mee made and declare this to be my last will and testament In testimony whereof I the said John Moone to this my last will and testament being written in three sheets of paper to each sheet have subscribed my name and to the last sheet have set my seale the second day of November one thousand six hundred seventie seven Annoq regni Regis Caroli secundus vicesimo nono John Moone Signed sealed and published in the presence of us Tho Hooper Alex Shoebridge John Hooper

    In the name of God Amen I Thomas Moone of Fant in the County of Sussex yeoman being not in very good health of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory (praised be God for the same) doe make my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First I commend my soule to God who gave it me and my body I commit to the earth from whence it was taken to be decently buried in such Christian manner as my executor hereafter named shall think fitt Item I give and bequeath unto Sarah my wife the use of the bed bedstedle curtains vallaines coverlead rugg blankets matt cord and all things belonging to the bed that we usually lye on and alsoe foure paire of sheets of the best sorte such as she shall please to chose during the terme of her naturall life And I will that my wife shall before my executor deliver her the said goods give security to deliver the same to my ex[ecut]or againe after her death Item I give and bequeath unto my said wife tenn pounds of said brother Joseph Moone overseer in trust to and for the good and benefit of the said Thomas Moone during his minority and whome I desire to take upon him the management of my estate to and for the good of the said Thomas and that my said brother will give an account to the said Thomas Moone of my said estate at his age of one and twenty yeares And my will and mind is that in case the said Thomas Moone shall happen to dye before he attaine his said age of one and twenty yeares or be married that then my said p[erso]nall estate shall be equally divided between my brothers William Moone and Joseph Moone my sister Fry my late brother John Moones children and my sister Ovendens children share and share alike within one yeare next after the death of the said Thomas Moone Item I give and devise unto Elizabeth now the wife of the said John Moone of Treblers one Annuity or yearly rent of six pounds of lawfull money of England to be yearly issuing out of all my lands tenements and the Nativity of St John the Baptist St Michael Thangell the Birth of our Lord God and Thannunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary by even and equall portions the first payment thereof to begin and to be made in and upon such of the said feast days as shall happen and come next after the death of the said John Moone her husband and to continue soe long time as she the said Elizabeth shall remaine and be the widow of the said John Moone and noe longer And if it shall happen the said yearly rent of six pounds or any part thereof to be behind and unpaid by the space of tenn days next after any or either of the said feast dayes on w[hi]ch the same ought to be paid as aforesaid that then and soe of often it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Elizabeth and her assignes into the said lands tenem[en]ts and premises to enter and distreyne and the distresse and distresses then and there found to take lead drive and carry away and the same to impound detaine and keep until the said annuity or yearly rent and all arrearages thereof (if any be) and all costs and damages sustained for non payment thereof shall and may be levied received and had as aforesaid Item I give and devise all my said lands tenements and hereditam[en]ts with all and singular theire and everye of theire appurten[anc]es unto the said Thomas Moone son of the said John Moone of Treblers and to the heyres
