In the name of God amen, I Frances Akehurst of Heathfield in the County of Sussex, widow, being sick and weak but of a sound & perfect mind and memory praysed be God for the same, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following That is to say First I bequeath my soul into the hands of the almighty God who gave it me and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Frances the wife of John Gunner of Godstone in the County of Surrey yeoman, the sum of one shilling to be paid her within one month next after my decease by Executor hereafter named Item I give and bequeath unto Richard, John, Elizabeth & Mary Akehurst four of (?) children of my late husband John Akehurst the sum of one shilling a piece to be paid to them within one month next after my decease by my Executor hereafter named. All the rest of my goods ……(?) Chattels and person effects whatsoever I give unto my Son Thomas Akehurst, eldest son of my said late husband John Akehurst and I make the said Thomas Akehurst Executor of this my last Will & Testament And I will that he pay unto my said children Richard, John, Elizabeth & Mary Akehurst their …….(?) legacys of five pounds ……(?) given them in by the last Will and Testament of their father John Akehurst and I would(?) disannul & make void all former Wills and Testaments by me made.
