- Anecdote: On a Datchurst manorial court record dated 7 Oct 1747, the death of Elizabeth Wheatly is noted. The properties included a house and lands called Wesbler and Hares and one hundred acres of land in Tunbridge and Leigh, and a barn and 14 acres of land called Kipps Land near Stocks Green, a farm called Dulhams, and a tenement called the Half Moon.2

- Anecdote: An alternate possible marriage in 1848 which needs further checking - Frances Mary Barber and John Startup. In the 1861 census, Frances gives her place of birth as Marden in Kent which is about 20kms east of Tonbridge.6
- Anecdote: Possible marriage to James Mercer in 1839 which also needs further checking. 1851 census for Maidstone has her born in Lamberhurst, Sussex c1821. Interestingly, there is a Deborah Barber born Ticehurst living with them.7
