- Birth: Anne Wadey was born in 1821 at Hangleton, Sussex, EnglandB.
- Baptism*: Anne Wadey was baptized on 7 October 1821 at Hangleton, Sussex, EnglandB.1
- She was the daughter of Luke Wadey and Mary Mitchell.
- Anecdote*: There are two Ann Wadey's working as female servants in Brighton in the 1841 census, both shown as age 20 years. One of these remains unmarried and serves as a domestic servant all her life. In later census returns she gives her place of birth as Shipley and West Chiltington. The other Anne Wadey gives her place of birth as Chichester. It is possible (but not conclusive) that Anne Wadey born West Chiltington is our Anne Wadey (although her baptism occurred in Hangleton). While there is not a high level of confidence in this, it is documented to aid future research.

- He was the son of Nathaniel Evans and Sarah Marshall.

- Occupation: George Evans was a mariner on 10 May 1818.
- Anecdote: George's occupation is recorded as a labourer on his children's baptisms between 1826 and 1841.
- Anecdote: Note that three of the EVANS children were baptised on the same day, 26 Mar 1827. Baptisms in bulk can point towards nonconformist tendencies; bulk baptisms can also point to non-attendance at church (not compulsory since 1689) or the fact the family migrated between parishes. At this juncture the latter two seem the more likely.3
- Anecdote: On his children's baptisms 1826-28, George is noted as "Levis, Labourer". Levi's (or Levy's) is most probably a description of the property/land the family held or worked on.
- Anecdote: Regarding the use of the middle name STEPHEN in two of the male children, no evidence has been discovered to date that provides a connection between the name STEPHEN and the EVANS family.3
- (Witness) Marriage: George Evans witnessed the marriage of Philip Murrell and Charlotte Evans on 28 August 1838 at Roman Catholic Chapel, Slindon, Sussex, EnglandB.4
