    Lastly I do hereby give unto my loving brother Thomas Rothwell and my loving sister Mary Jackson whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my sole executor and executrix of this my last will and testament all and singular my lands messuages and tenements and all other my household goods and affects whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be found to them their heirs and assigns I give and devise the same forever on this condition nevertheless that they pay all and every of the legacies and bequests out of the same which I do hereby charge for the payment of them within 12 months next after my decease
    And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies and bequests and executors by me in anyways before named willed and bequested Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date first above written

    In the Name of God Amen the 29th day of October in the year of our Lord 1743 I Thomas Rothwell of Albourne in the county of Sussex blacksmith being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say Principally and First of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form Imprimis I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Rothwell my beloved daughter the sum of £30 of lawful money of England I do likewise give unto Mary Rothwell my loving daughter the sum of £40 of like lawful money of England Item I also give unto Nanny Rothwell my beloved daughter the sum of £40 of lawful money of England Lastly I do give and bequeath to Mary Rothwell my loving wife whom I constitute make and ordain my sole executrix of this my last will and testament All the rest and residue of my personal estate goods and chattels singularly my lands messuages and tenements and all my household goods and effects whatsoever and wheresoever that may be found during the term of her natural life and after her decease to be equally divided between my loving daughters their heirs executors or assigns on this condition nevertheless that she shall pay all and every of my debts and legacies and bequests above mentioned out of the same which I hereby charge for the payment of them when my daughters come of age and then to be payable and nothing outsetted or allowed for board or clothing at the time of payment unless any casualty befall them that they are not able to do for themselves My will and meaning is that if any one or more of my daughters should decease before they come to age their legacy or legacies shall be equally divided between my loving wife my executrix and my surviving daughters their heirs executors or assigns and I do hereby utterly hereby disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies and bequests and executors by me in anyways before named willed and bequested ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in writing In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written

    The will of Thomas Rothwell late of Albourne within the Archdeaconry of Lewes deceased was proved the 7th day of December in the year of our Lord 1743 before the Reverend Mr John Bristed Clerk Surrogate Upon the oath of Mary Rothwell sole executrix in the said will named To whom was committed the administration of the goods and so forth being first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and so forth.
